Do you believe that the ends justifies the means? why or why not?

To say it depends appears to be a lame rationale

It DOES depend.

You can live your life honoring a theoretical black and white line, always doing the right thing the right way. But following the inflexible line isn’t realistic, doesn’t accomodate for our humanness, and leaves us open to those who are dishonorable.

There is always a balancing act between values. How we find our balance is what makes us who we are. One simply cannot always be following the perfect code of behavior. Because at some point, such irrevocable line-following does make one vulnerable to those who don’t have any values whatsoever.

You can apply this same thinking to Iraq; to the death penalty; to abortion. There are extenuating circumstances; there are enemies who only respect blood and violence.

It is a lame rationale to view such a complex issue with blinders on, and claim it does NOT depend. In fact, no matter how loudly you shout it, the answer remains the same. It depends.

Just let me ask this first. Do you really want us to look closely at some of the means that have been justified by religious ends over the years? But to answer you.. Anyone who says either thing is doing something that they know they shouldn’t be doing.

i believe it is true, the way you live your life by not tooting you own horn when you do something kind for someone but if you go around making noise like an empty wagon,

the justice of your choices will make you feel that you have a purpose in life or you need to stop being an empty wagon.

YES everything we do has a point to it e.g. putting the kettle on, watching a tv programme, going to sleep. They all have a purpose.
