Learnt is more common in British English…I love your accent! Failed and learned from it (or learnt)….this is my entire life! I fail on a daily basis, and learn on a daily basis. I am one of the lucky people who have come to embrace failure. It is now one of my official senses, along with sight and hearing, is now failing.
