Can you tell me what “words speak for themselves”?

The phrase “words speak for themselves” something like that or little different than that. What does it mean? When do ppl use it?

It basically means that there is no further explanation needed. Sometimes a saying or phrase may be rhetoric, may refer to something else, may rely on someone’s prior knowledge of a subject. However, if something is easy to understand, the words are basically speaking for themselves.
