Can words really hurt more than punches?

“Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me”.

Is that true… I want to hear your opinions.

Yes it is true. Bruises heal and are forgotten. Words can last forever.

It depends on the words and the person who they are said to, but sure words can hurt A LOT MORE.

Bruises heal but if you say something nasty to somebody who is sensitive/sensitive about whatever it is that you said, they can dwell on it and it can mess them up for ages because the mind can take longer to bounce back than the body.

For example, if you kick a girl in the butt every day for a wee the bruises will go away, but if you call her fat everyday she might go on to be anorexic or self conscious and it can really mess her up for ages.

It’s like with Post Traumatic Stress, the stress of an event can messes up your head long after your boy has healed, especially if there are things around you that remind you of the stress.

Yeah they really can, evry time I get in an arguement with my grandmom the way she yells at me really hurts my feelins. She don’t even curse or nothin. I guess it’s just the fact that I love my grandmom and I don’t wanna get her into a heart attack because I was rasin my voice at her. If I get punched , than sure I wiil cry, but not as much.

yes, words hurt more…the brain works that a physical pain is healed with time but a verbal pain can be replayed in a mind again and again. What happens is each time we think about it we often add to the pain-thus, we just keep hurting…time heals> maybe…only time will tell.

No one ever remembers all the bruises they received over a lifetime, however, I bit everyone can remember mean things that have been said to them.

Bruises fade but harsh words, especially from peers and loved ones can go deep and scar.

yes……..thts really true…..

words will always hurt more than punches…

punch makes us phisically ill….n can be cured easily…

bt a single word can destroy our mental peace….which is very very difficult to cure.
