Can someone please explain to me?

Why when writing one would feel its necessary to abbreviate a four or three-letter word? For example- Have becomes ‘hav’. What becomes ‘wat’. With becomes ‘wit’. And becomes ‘nd’.

This is the way of the future. If you were only go back as far as the times that your parents were in school you would notice a difference. I give you the English language as an example ( I did all I could not to say, eg;)

In England and Australia we spell ” colour, as such. whoever in the U.S it is ” color ” the same with humour and humor and so on.

Over time new words are introduced into a language and over time they are chopped and changed.

It is the youth who will decided, and thus a comment like ” WTF r u tlkn bt ! will end up being taught in schools.

I hope I’m ( I’m is a Good eg ) long dead before it happens.

In add. det. u wrote LOL for laughing….

It is not proper to say that ppl are lazy and/or stupid & they don’t know spelling etc.; as many answerers have commented. Our ultimate aim is to make ppl u/stand what v wanna say. Americans have been the first to change the spellings with the idea to cut off unnecessary letters, like color and favor etc ie without u. When you answer another YA user’s mail, u will see that the character-count is running. If you shorten the words, u may write more and it saves time as well. Instead of being stupid, these ppl r WISER to find shorter, better & quicker option. It actually puts a ? mark on wisdom of the ppl blaming them to be ignorant.

PS (add det-2)- Drops make the ocean! (How much time is saved…) It isn’t saving only one letter. In an average answer you will notice that at an average 10-15 letters r saved. It’s a matter of habit to u/stand these abbrvtns. As I have seen many ppl asked on YA, meaning of lol, lmao etc. It’s necessary to know the FF of these expressions. Abbvtns of the words r usually obvious at a guess. As a matter of fact if u leave blanks at such places also, ppl may u/stand by guessing.

People may be multi tasking between work and chat on their computer. There are sites that give a list of abbreviation’s for sentence’s for chat rooms. I guess it saves time, as long as you dont hand in a paper or legal document like this what is the harm. It’s is just slang

Probably a habit picked up from texting on mobile phones.

It seems that eventually everything becomes more abbreviated.

Telephone becomes phone.

Television ( from Greek and Latin) becomes Telly or TV.

Laughing Out Loud becomes LOL, and maybe soon just LL.

Unfortunately some people think that saving time writing one letter each time will add up. It doesn’t.

Also, perhaps they are not great typists and are just spelling the words incorrectly.

Hope this helps!

some people try to type exactly how they talk..its like a computer slang lol..see i did it only it was not a four letter word ;}

i think when a person gets in a hurry: i do it to..i admit..we use really sloppy skills its like computer slang.

actually using these words is to make a msg fast for eg, sending sms from mobile – to send it fast so it has been using even in chatting..

so the conclusion is just to type the msg faster!
