An aardvark question?

Why does the word aardvark have to begin with 2 “a”s? Neither the pronunciation nor the definition would be affected if it began with 1 a. I am very concerned about the unnecessary use of “a”s, when there is such a shortage of them already. We need to conserve “a”s whenever possible. Please help me with this disturbing situation.

The real problem with the shortage of “a”s has nothing to do with aardvarks. It has to do with an over supply of a__holes. Get rid of all the a__holes and there would be plenty of “a”s for the rest of us.

Cause people love to have a definate word that they know at the front of the dictionary.

like the last word in the modern dictionary is zyzaviz or something like that.

The name comes from the Afrikaans/Dutch for “earth pig” (aarde earth, varken pig),
