The alphabet is more familiar. The QWERTY keyboard layout was invented by Christopher Sholes in 1878 as an INEFFICIENT system to to slow typing speeds and prevent the keys from jamming on early typewriters.

The original typewriters had this layout. The keys kept getting stuck in other layouts, so the most common letters were spaced apart. This caused typists to type slower and gave the keys time to spring back up. No, it is not the most efficient. There are other keyboards out there that let you type faster but few people are familiar with them so they do not sell well.

they used to have a form like ‘abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz’ on the first typewriters, but people were typing so fast on them that it actually broke the typewriters. They randomized the letters so that people couldn’t type so fast; there is no reason as to why it is this form, though.

The alphabet is more familiar, but as much as I type, I had no trouble figuring out the second one!

i like both really. I m still learning to type faster and i m getting pretty good. I probably couldn t recite the QWERTY alphabet though…
