I would say that it depends entirely upon where you want to work and what sacrifices you are willing to make. Foreign college students (in both the UK and US) are sometimes ineligible for financial aid and at many colleges, international students must prove that they have enough money in the bank to pay for the entire college education (all four years). Also, a college which might be fantastic in the US might not have any established reputation in the UK and vice versa. Plus, international students are sometimes held to higher standards in the application process. Really, you should find a university that fits you, not a country that is cooler or more exotic.
