Would community college make sense?

I am only 17 and I do not really know what i should major in and I don’t want to be far from home right now. should i just choose a community college for 2 years and get my general core classes out of the way and then transfer to a university.

As a graduate of an community college, I was glad that I went to community college first. College is a totally new experience and for some they can handle to pressure. If you still want the close contact with the professor to obtain extra help if needed then yes. If you are not ready for large classrooms of 100 or more students then yes. If you want a degree to show for the hard work you have done in two years then yes. If you do not want the distractions of the partying and fraternity and sorority life then yes. However, If you feel that you are ready for the real life experiences that a four year university can give you then go right ahead and dive in. Community college gave me the preparation that I needed at the four year level. When I entered into the university I went straight the the core classess in my major. Also, I was quite more prepared than those who did not attend a community college. Yet, remember that the information that you are being given here are others thoughts and opinions, so the ultimate decision is still yours.

it’s a good idea especially if you didn’t get the best grades you could have in high school. After going to a cc for 2 years colleges will only look at your gpa from that time, and it is generally a lot easier to transfer from there.
