will i be accepted?

will i most likely be accepted into a small (when i say small i mean tiny, like 500 student) college in alaska if i am in extra curric. activities, studied abroad for a year, took the international baccalaureate diploma program, and finish with a 3.3 or 3.4 gpa, and I volunteered and i was involved in a envirothon (nobody will know what that is. It is a national competition that test students environmental knowledge and problem solving skills).

my sophmore year was really rough

You seem to be pretty well-rounded. I would go to their website and see what their entering freshmen statistics were. Usually, the college states what the average GPA and profile of their last incoming freshman class was in their website, which gives you a hint of whether your GPA is up to par. Also, check to see if the college has a holistic or comprehensive approach to reviewing applications… whether they rely on the whole application or if they rely heavily on your SAT/ACT and GPA index score for the college.

It doesn’t hurt to apply. I’d say go for it.

Your best bet is to contact the department directly. With a school as small as the one you’re applying to, I’m sure they’d be more than happy to at the very least let you exchange emails with current students, so you can get more of an idea of the expectations.

You sound like you should be a shoe-in though! The envirothon sounds awesome!

Best of luck!
