When a offical transcript is mailed into another school for enrollment, do they also need to call & verify it?
I’m trying to estimate a timeline for enrollment and inform my job for reimbursement. They seem to think the transcript process is long….

I used to be a transcript coordinator at a university. Our processing time for official transcripts was 5-10 working days. I’m not quite sure what you mean by “do they also need to call & verify it.” An official transcript sent from one school directly to another school should not require further verification. An official transcript is signed by the Registrar, date stamped and possibly embossed with the school seal. It will also arrive at the school in a sealed envelope.
If you need your transcript evaluated by your current school, that might be a lengthy process. Each school has different transfer evaluation procedures. Check with your school to see how long it takes to evaluate a transcript and for you to be admitted and then enrolled.
Hope this helps! Best wishes!
