the best study strategy i’ve learned is to study more often instead of one time for a long period of time. for example instead of cramming for 2 hours, study for 30 minutes then take a break to watch tv or do something else then study for another 30 minutes and take a break, etc. the way memory works, this is much more effective. also, easier said than done but try not to put off studying until the last minute. if you keep up with studying your notes over the say 3 weeks before your exam instead of waiting until the night before you will be much less stressed out and will retain more information.

be sure to also find out the first week of class what the exams for each class will be like. you will have to study differently for multiple choice vs. essay and it will be really helpful if you know ahead of time. most profs have no problem telling you.

oh also, my notes are always a total mess so i try to kinda of re-write them to study. i go through and write on my new paper the info i think i’ll need to know for the test and i also write any examples that help me understand the concept. you really have to work on trying to make the info work for you. try to apply it to things that interest you and it’ll be much easier to remember.

good luck!!

I used colored notecards when I studied for a test. By using these flashcards…I could carry them around everywhere. Psychology teaches us that the mind remembers colors. I would use these colored notecards as your test study guide.

Being a college student is also hard if you work. I would suggest working a second shift job..such as a waiter/waitress, Blockbuster, etc. Something with not a lot of responsibility. Something that when you clock out…you clock out. Then, you could concentrate fully on your classes.

I suggest to defend your ‘A’ grade from day one. Do not slack. You can slack once the semester ends. College is a privaledge..treat it that way!

Personally, studying between classes was more efficent than trying to focus at home. For example, I had a two hour break between classes last semester. I would get all of my homework done for class one and then review my notes for the class I was waiting on. Obviously more studying is necessary during exams and when writing papers, but overall the studying between classes really helped me.

Well one thing that helped me a lot was to engage myself in what was being taught. I always sat in the front seats, considering I paid a lot of money to be there and I don’t want to see any distractions, this makes you pay attention more and not worry about what others are doing…flash cards are great too since you can carry them around instead of the text book, take them out while you are waiting for food to be cooked in the cafeteria or pull them out while you wait for class to start!

engaged on campus is quite maximum suitable in case you could. They understand that faculty comes first, so in case you have a extensive examination you could “bypass” paintings for that day, and you at the instant are not required to paintings throughout finals week.
