In 1999, 6,218 of 17,379 accepted medical students had biology majors. That’s 36%. However, 100% of them had to study at least one year of biology to get into medical school.

Hmmm…. good question..

I am currently a bio major and I hope to be accepted into med school…

Wikipedia tells me that it is not necessary to major on Biology to get into medical school so long as you take all the prerequisites and pass the MCAT…

I hope this helps : )
