The difference is that usually a bachelor of science program is much tougher and more in-depth in a subject. It is usually the degree that people interested in going to graduate school pursue (if given the choice). The bachelor of arts degree doesn’t have as many specific requirements so as to allow you to broaden yourself with courses outside of your major. You really can’t go wrong with either degree, although as a current graduate student, I’d recommend the bachelor of science if you want to go to graduate school.

Personnally, I don’t see any difference. Does the college give you a choice? I would think the college would decide what degree you get based on what you major in. If you do have a choice, since biology is a science, you might be seen as a stronger scientist if you had a BS, but its not a big deal.
