What is the best way to cycle your reading?

I am studying for an exam for a Govt. job. I have a lot to read. What is the best method of reading that maximizes comprehension, etc..?

I hope this question makes sense…..LOL

Thanks.

What I did was to outline chapters by physically making notes on separate pieces of paper. For example, I would condense a 30 page chapter from a book into 7 or 8 hand-written notes of the important points found within the chapter. Doing it this way was time consuming, but there was a dual benefit to it: 1) Just by physically writing out the important points helped me to retain the information in my head and 2) Once I finished writing out the condensed version I was able to re-read my notes much faster than re-reading the actual chapter in the book, thus allowing me to review them many more times than if I was to re-read the chapter itself. Good luck!

Not sure what you mean, exactly. I “cycled” my reading in college and grad school, actually, by not doing most of it. Most exams were on the notes.
