If it is, then the best thing would be for the student to find something close to where they are living (to save on gas/transport costs) yet can offer a larger potential source of income! (waiting tables or bartending)

Conversely, if your main objective is not making as much as you can, I would suggest something that you could include on your professional resume for after you graduate with your degree!! Meaning either a position in a field relative to and/or highlighting/complimenting your major/degree – or volunteer work that highlights your unique perspectives, skill sets, and existing education level.

Finally, don’t gloss over the idea of a paid/unpaid internship!! If you get one with an industry leader in your field, that name on your resume alone will aid in your quick development within “Corporate America!”

Remember, at the end of the day, it’s what you’re able to offer your employer, and how much you’re bringing home (in income not embezzlement!) 🙂
