What is more important?

I’ve been going to a community college for 2 years. I’m about to start my 3rd year, and my parents are getting sick of me not having gone away to another school already. The REASON I haven’t gone away isn’t because of my grades or because of money; it’s because I don’t know what I want to do.

So by this time next year, I have to pick a school and go to it. But I can’t pick a school if I don’t know what I want to major in. And this isn’t a simple problem; it can’t be solved with a simple “major in something you’re interested in.” Why? Because I don’t know what I’m interested in doing. So now it seems my only options are these:

1) Pick a school and major in whatever they have to offer.

2) Pick a major randomly from a list and apply to the schools that offer it.

Maybe a BS/BA degree isn’t for you. Everyone does not need a BS/BA degree.

Get a technical 2 year degree from your Community College and be done with it. HVAC, nursing (or medical), pharmacy tech, welding, computer programming or networking (even though you’ve said that you’ve tried it) are among decent careers that you can get a 2 year degree in.
