Number of credit hours taken is the delimiting factor between part-time and full-time students.

Generally speaking – 1 or 2 classes is part-time. 3 or more classes is full-time.

Well its quite simple, courses you take usually have credit hours lets say you are taking regular courses each worth three credit hours.

so when you take only three courses you have nine credit hours in total and you are considered a part time student with nine credit hours or less per semester.

If you are taking 12 credit hours or more usually with a maximum of 18 you are a full time student (though some go for 21 credits not advisable to hard)

good luck

it depends on how many credited hours that you sign up for. the full amount is around 12 hours and higher and part time is 6 and under(i don’t know if it differs in Canada). if you are unsure about this college then only sign up for part time, to get your feet wet, but if finical aid is involved then you more than likely have to become a full time to receive any help. just talk to your adviser and let him/her know about your dilemma.

You forgot section-time college! i’m a mature student and weighed up despite if OU grow to be worth it or no longer while i began out. For me, I felt it wasn’t. when I checked the fee in step with module, i got here across that OU grow to be two times as costly as my community uni. additionally it relies upon on the form of man or woman you’re. are you able to focus at domicile or will you continuously placed issues off till the final minute? between the advantages of surely attending uni a week is that it makes you study for the classes and hand stuff in on time (in concept, besides). i understand if i grow to be at domicile doing it, i could be on YA each and every of the time, working after the youngsters and hubby, observing Jeremy Kyle……. i’m getting plenty out of face-to-face touch with different pupils and academics. i’m no longer asserting you will no longer get it in any respect with OU however the opportunities are much less and as I say, this is greater costly. Why do no longer you think of roughly doing the direction section-time? this could show you how to get the main out of examining besides as earn the money to pay the fees. I gulped while they reported my diploma could be 6 years in entire yet coming to the tip of my 5th twelve months, i could have finished altogether by skill of this time next twelve months and this is long gone like a flash. attempt calling study Direct for greater suggestion – they have been fairly helpful with me.
