There are lot of students like that in my evening classes, and the sentiment I get from them is that they’re there because the degree will count as a “punching the ticket” item in their careers. In other words they already have their careers established, they know what they’re doing in terms of their business, they just need that degree as a backup whenever they’re offered certain managing jobs and the job may require “X” degree. Learning anything else in the class is the cherry on top.

I work at a school that caters to mostly non-traditional students. I was one. What we look for is flexibility, convenient night or online courses, and respect. You can’t treat working adults with responsibilities the same way you treat 18-year-old kids whose parents are paying the bills.

I determined what I wanted to do and then went from there.

My biggest concern was for a school that had hours that worked around my busy schedule:

+do they have night, evening hours

+how demanding is the course

+is it small enough to get one-on-one attention, if needed.

Good Luck : )
