It really depends on what their major is. If it’s bio, they can get various jobs in the scientific/medical industry.

Or, they can apply to other professional schools like dentistry, optometry, pharmacy, physical therapy, etc.

Or, go to grad school to improve their chances at med school.

I would first examine if you’ve really exhausted all of your options/approached med school application in the proper way. Did you max your chances of acceptance in terms of grades, LORs, research/clinical experience? Did you apply to schools that more closely match your stats (including DO schools)? If the answer to these questions is yes, foreign med schools like Ross are an option. I would be careful with this though as I have heard that bc these schools are for profit that they are churning out medical students in excess of the space availible for 3&4th year clinicals. No clinicals make it near impossible to pass the USMLE Step 2, and impossible to graduate. The caribbean med schools can potentially be a huge, expensive mistake if not well researched.

You can go to medical schools outside the nation, but in order to practice in the US, you’ll need to take a board exam. Depending on your major, which I’m assuming is related to science, you can get a master’s degree and even further a Phd degree which will enable you to conduct research or teach. Another option is to get an MPH degree or Masters in Public Health which will also allow you to work in the health field but involve more interaction with people. If you have average grades and MCAT score, you could get a master’s degree and then apply to medical school, because the additional degree could improve your chances.
