I think the advisor is spot on. The first semester of college is overwhelming: learning to live w/others in the dorm, being away from home, working, and navigating the world of higher education.

I think it’s good for him to ease into university life and gain some confidence and get his feet wet. He can take more credits next semester once he has it all figured out.

Don’t worry. He’ll be fine. Sounds like he has a good advisor who knows what s/he is talking about.

12 hours sounds like a good deal, unless perhaps he was the Valedictorian of his senior class and made a 36 on his ACT, but the advisor is right. He can always up his load to 15 hours next semester if he thinks he can handle it.

he is a full time student with 12 credits and working part time he will not have much time to balance school and work. 12 credits is perfect for him

maximum school scholars of their first semester have a annoying time adjusting and balancing their time. The consultant suggested this because of the fact he knows that working area-time can impact grades, college overall performance…etc. 4 classification remains 12 instruments, meaning he remains an entire time pupil. If he handles 4 training nicely his first semester, than he can bump it as much as 5 interior the spring…

12 credits is considered full time student… AND I don’t think he’s gonna have much time left if he’s working part-time as well…
