University of Wisconsin-Madison acceptence?????

Wisconsin Madison has always been my dream school, and I am very smart, I did REALLY well in high school until my junior year where I developed I terrible eating disorder, from there my grades spiraled downwards! I ended up being hospitalized my senior year. I come from a small town and I was too embarassed to tell anyone at school what was going on. I didn’t fail any classes, but I definitely was not 4.0. The last part of my senior year I was in pretty severe condition and going to school was not exactly an option so I had to finish up my schooling by getting my HSED or otherwise (GED). I scored a 22 on my ACT my junior year. ANYWAY— Its been 4 years since all of that, and I have moved on and am now a full time online student, and am planning on retaking my ACT and scoring at least a 25, if not higher. I have been doing great in college & was just wondering in two years when I want to transfer what are my chances of getting into UW madison. If I maintain a good GPA and high ACT

Just explain all of your problems in your personal essay. There might even be an area directly on the application asking if you have any special considerations. Not to belittle your experiences, but colleges love stories like yours and that is exactly the kind of things they want to see in candidates. Believe me, I’ve played up my own stories of hardship on various applications and people love it! I even got an internship in Japan because of it!

Good GPA, strong ACT and a heartbreaking story of struggle–you could get in! Good luck.
