I attend the University of Pittsburgh and I can assure you that if safety is the only problem, than you have not problem. I’m not sure what Chris C. is talking about as the Pittsburgh metropolitan area has the lowest crime rate among the 25 largest metropolitans. Maybe the fact that he called Pittsburgh a neighborhood should tell you how well informed he is. I’m not trying to say that there isn’t any crime at Pitt but it wouldn’t be any better in New York or North Carolina. Pittsburgh is as safe as any city of its size and the University of Pittsburgh is a great school, depending on your major. I’m not going to lie, I’m a little biased being a student there but if you are looking for the truth, I just told you. Also, Pittsburgh was recently rated “America’s Most Livable City” by “Places Rated Almanac”.

Rutgers and Pitt are pretty strong. Delaware is just a good school for it. Keep in mind, Pittsburgh is in an urban setting, while New Brunswick is more of a suburban town. Some people just prefer a type of environment over the other. Pitt may be surrounded by a little more internship potential than Rutgers though

I live in New England too, and I’m always down for people who like to get away for college… but in this case Pittsburgh is not the college you wanna go too… Pittsburgh is not a good neighborhood… I mean crime rate is not too good in Pittsburgh… If you can get into Pittsburgh, Why don’t you try something else down the East Coast… NYC? Florida? Maybe even North Carolina or Duke?
