Yes, college chem and college bio is too hard to take together. There is a lot of work to do in those classes and you will also need time to study for other classes too. Also, taking both at the sametime might actually hurt your grades cuz you have to keep up and you wouldnt have much time for other classes. Sleep is essential….

Take 1 now and take the other next year. Its better for your health and your grades that way.

^laughing at the above answer since minnesota is unquestionably ranked much lower than michigan academically.

I’m a UM student. I would recommend taking one the first semester and another the second. Bio at UMich shouldn’t be too bad, but especially if you’re taking Organic Chem I would be careful…those classes serve as weeders for premed kids and they can be pretty competitive.

Hello,

I was Pre-Pharmacy back in 1984 and took Bio and Chemistry together. It practically killed me! I agree with everyone’s advise – take Bio one semester and chemistry the next. The life sciences are pre-med weeder classes.

take 1 or the other but I would not likely take 2 sciences at the U of M just starting out. Its a very good school and if you are not already used to the way things are done it will be a shock of the most unpleasant type.
