UC-Berkley, UNC-Chapell Hill, UW-Madison, UV? The choices?
Ok I know about the academic record but just in terms of other things such as learningg culture, student life and the general goings of the above schools, what do you guys reccomend?

Those are all excellent choices.
UVA and UNC both tend to be a bit more conservative, white, and greek oriented.
Berkley and Madison both have strong liberal records and diversity.
Which one fits you better?
Also, what is it that you think you want to do and which school offers the strongest program in that?
