I mean I am just at home going to a little community college in California…doing absolutly nothing special. The only thing that bthers me about PCC is tha I heard they are strict about gender to gender interaction? that really sounds retarded!

in all honesty… not to sound harsh… but PCC is an inferior school, both in rankings and in it’s preperation for life after college. If going to a “Christian” school is something you’re shooting for, i would suggest APU, or if your scores are not so good Biola. I went to Pepperdine University myself, it has it’s moral backbone, but like real life it doesnt push you down with too many rules and regulations(other than being a dry campus, no sex in dorms, etc…). Pepperdine is probably the highest ranked Christian Univ, Apu is third tier i believe.. and well Biola and PCC are way behind… but from what i hear about PCC it’s much worse than biola and is not known for it’s academics at all. Granted when you graduate from college, where you have your degree isnt always an issue, but it’s always a good thing if those who hire you have some knowledge about where you graduated from. PCC tries to form this bubble within it’s college community that is entirely unrealistic for the real world… there is a difference between providing an education with a Christian influence, and trying to make students study in an environment that will not prepare them for life after college. Good luck!

What would you be doing that is special at PCC that is different then what you are doing right now?

Yes, because they are a Christian College they will probably have a more strict approach at gender to gender interaction…because they have to hold the Christian status in higher esteem than other colleges. If that is going to be a source of disagreement for you, I would suggest finding another school.

I went to PCC for a year, and my sister graduated from there. It has its good and bad qualities. It IS very strict, so if you are not into that, then do not go. They are strict about gender interaction…you have to be chaperoned at all times and if you are in an unchaperoned area with a guy/girl, you will get demerits. The teachers there are really nice, but definitely are not the most challenging classes in the world. There are checks for EVERYTHING…you have to be out of your room by a certain time for chapel and church, and then the floor leaders go around and check all of the rooms to make sure everyone is at church. The only way you can be in your room is if you are “checked in” – in other words, you are ill. The campus is beautiful, but you have to scan your card to go off and there are various rules for different age groups. If you have any specific questions, let me know!

I had a friend that went to school there, and yes, they are very strict. For example, she wasn’t allowed to go certain places at night without other people with her. Personally, it wouldn’t be where I would want to go, but it didn’t seem to bother my friend too much. So just realize what you are getting yourself into.
