Actually…social workers almost work for free. They are not paid as well as someone with a master’s should be paid. Alot of social workers, work for non-profit organizations.

Both careers will work with kids. And both require a master’s degree. You can google either job and get tons of info. It could be very sad to be social worker…if you are visitng homes and kids are being abused and have to removed. But it can also be very rewarding.

However a speech pathologist will make more money, and if you can speak 2 languages, you can make even more money.

If you equally like both careers, go with the money!

I am a speech therapist in a hospital and have a friend who is a social working in the same hospital. Neither of the jobs are work free. I would suggests that before you decide visit places and shadow the profession(al) for a day. See if it’s for you.

Both are rewarding!

i’m a social worker. the respond to your question particularly relies upon on what state/province you’re in, as each and every jurisdiction has diverse regulatory standards for calling your self a social worker. In Canada (the place i’m), you always prefer a Bachelor of Social artwork (BSW), it particularly is a college degree, as a manner to grow to be legally registered as a social worker. in many US states, you prefer a grasp of Social artwork (MSW) and 2-3 years supervised medical adventure as a manner to grow to be authorized as a medical social worker. in case you do no longer inevitably prefer to call your self a social worker, yet are attracted to doing appropriate artwork without the degree, you may artwork in many non-earnings or voluntary social service companies as a help worker. normally, in spite of the certainty that those jobs do no longer pay ok, you will take transport of an possibility to artwork with marginalized populations and get good adventure. i could propose that any one hoping to pursue a profession in social artwork get a social artwork degree, because of the fact the practise and practise is worth it. I even have considered those with BAs in the sector, and in spite of the certainty that they do considered necessary artwork, they generally do no longer physique of ideas the artwork in a similar fashion that many BSWs or MSWs could. Having formal practise in the sector actual makes a difference the two way.

If I could answer that I would know you quite well….which I don’t…so I can’t

I can say…that either one of these careers might not be the one you think you will do in life… I would say choose something that interests you and you are passionate about.

Your career can and will evolve over time so you may do many different things.

Everyone now a days is a shrink/social worker. Go for speech pathology. Way too many people have speech impediments. Get them while they are young and fix their speech. Schools pay for special ed. for speech. They don’t pay for one on one therapy.
