Returning adult college student, needs help…..?

Alright, so I have an A.S. Degree from a Community College. I do not need a B.S./B.A. degree for my job, but I want to finish it anyway for my own self gratification. The problem is, school has ALWAYS been very hard for me and I prefer to take classes on-line. I do NOT want to get a degree from a “degree mill” school such as Univ. of Phoenix, Strayer Univ. etc. I want a reputable school that offers distance education. I love photography and art, and I work in Human Resources for the government. What school would have a great program for me that is not expensive. Any suggestions, would be greatly appreciated. Cost and time are an issue. Also, I have around 70 credits already as well as many years of work experience and government training. What should I do? Thank you!

The cheapest option will be one of your local state colleges or state universities. They will almost certainly have online courses. Check the web sites for public universities in your home state.

If you hadn’t specified that you want your bachelor’s, I’d suggest the USDA’s grad school program. They’re not a degree-granting institution, but they do offer online classes and certification in certain areas, and several of the courses will transfer to a formal university. Considering your employer, you could probably get financial assistance easily. You might also want to investigate whether your department has a list of approved schools/programs for continuing education, and then winnow that down by seeing which ones have the best online offerings.

You can take those credits and transfer them to University of Phoenix. I have had a great experience and do not consider it a “degree mill” school. I started last August and will be FINISHED in Feb. of 2008. I am so happy and you should look into that too and not make a judgement………
