Question about college application/race?
I have a question about college applications and race… I know about quotas and all that stuff so… hypothetically, if I am white and I indicated I was black or another minority on all my college applications, would this increase my chances of getting in? If they found out some how, what wold be the penalty for this? I am just curious about this, thanks.

Tell the truth and rests on your own merits for admission. That is the best strategy.
There have been many stories where applicants have lied on their resume, and get accepted, only to have the college find out and revoke the acceptance. Colleges will look at applicants more closely AFTER they have been accepted, but this particular lie is extremely dangerous and should not be done.
If you weren’t caught, and you have as strong credentials as the majority, then yes you would have a better chance. But that’s a risk I would never take.
Lying on your application is grounds for immediate dismissal. You could try to apply where being white might give you an edge – at a traditional black college, you’d be the minority there.
