please help me!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I’m 22 and entering college for the first time. I have my GED and was wondering after i receive my associates degree I want to transfer to a northeastern university! Will they care about the GED…or??? I was also wondering if anyone else started their college education later, and what advice do you have for me? I plan on going to medical school also? Thanks!

I don’t think it will really matter that you have your GED as long as you get your Associates Degree and then transfer. You should be fine. I’ve got my GED too, and I plan on getting my AA (which is halfway through! Yay!) and then transferring to a local four year university and getting my bachelors in middle grade education. After that I plan on getting my masters and doctorate in education as well.

It probably won’t be a problem that you have your GED as long as you show the desire to learn and stay in college. I think you’ll be fine.

No, having a GED will not matter unless the university is absolutely picky (such as Harvard), but it’s usually really rare. The main thing is to keep your college grades up and obtain enough credits before you transfer to a university.

Medical school will take longer because you may have to go 6+ years to get your doctorate degree.

I’m 32 and I’m still trying to finish up my bachelor’s degree. I started college at age 19, but then I got married, bought a house and did all the adult things at such an early age that school is going a little slow for me. I’ve been going off and on over the years, but never give up! I’m actually almost done. But it’s hard when you’re having to take 1 class a semester because of a full-time job and stuff. My job now pays so well that I don’t have to finish college, but I want that degree for my own personal accomplishment.
