you can major in what ever you like. A lot of medical students major in biology because it gives them an upper hand in Mcats. But that could work either way because if they don’t do so well then they can crash and burn because GPA is the most important thing to get in to medical school.. You do have to take the pre requisites. which are:
One year in
Biology
chemistry
organic chemistry
calculus and higher math
english

You most definitely want to find yourself in a biology or chemistry major. These areas provide the best foundation for a career in the opthomology field. Be sure to excel as much as possible in these courses, as schools will look closely at your grades both in class and in the lab.

Biology or Chemistry, but really it doesn’t matter what your major is if you plan to go to med school. the only thing that matters if if you take the required courses in biology, chemistry, physics, and calculus.
