Needed college degree for working at disney?

I want to work for Disney, or Pixar. It is my entire life goal, and has been for a while now. However… now that I’ve started looking at colleges, I don’t know what kind of degree, or qualifications I might need for a job there. So, my question is… anyone know where to go to find out such things?

If you want to work for Pixar or Disney, you definitely would need a degree, and from a top art school too like Cal Arts or Art Center, since after all the best companies such as Pixar and Disney recruit from schools like the ones mentioned.

For Example, Cal Arts in Valencia was actually founded b y Disney, and I imagine they recruit a lot of students from that school since after all they founded it!

If you were referring to a simple office receptionist job then no you do not need a degree, although it would make you stand out from all the other receptionists that would apply for the same type of job.

omg, i totally always wanted to work for pixar too! i went to their website once and they said that u dont need to major in something special for it, but u need to submit samples of ur work. im 17 and in a year when i go to college , im most likely going to major in psychology so that i have a solid background and can make sure i have a source of income instead of just waiting til the day i work at pixar lol. dont forget, u might work hard at animation but end up working for someone smaller, not disney or pixar, and i didnt want to do that so im not going to put all my eggs in one basket and simply focus on animation. go to pixar.com to their employment area(i think), to see more info.

try asking disney or pixar themselves…not only will they give what places that the people that get the jobs usually go to college…but they will know that you are genuinly interested in the job….GOOD LUCK!!!

I recommend the Ringling School of Art and Design. They have a specialized program for computer animation.
