Most law school classes will have students from 50 or more different universities and colleges attending them in each class. Any bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution will likely suffice to get you into law school, as long as your GPA and LSAT are high enough.

But, since being a lawyer requires seven years of study, I’d suggest that you look into going to the state schools where you are at. I had classmates who had their law school loans on top of hefty undergrad loans from private colleges and universities. Law school is expensive enough; don’t go piling on with too much debt.

Check out recent law school rankings. Although it has been criticized, U.S. News comes out with a pretty good list every year. Go to the best school that is a fit for you. Consider location, cost, and level of competition, among other factors. Schools like this will offer great preparation for the rigors of law school.

Once you get there, major in something that interest you. I’m heading to Vanderbilt Law School soon, and I had a major in Bible and minors in Sociology and History. My point is that you don’t have to limit yourself to Pre-law or Political Science if you don’t want to.

Suffolk in Boston, MA. They have an excellent law program and a law school for after you complete your undergrad studies.

Any school that meets Pre-Law is ok. Most of your state universities will do that. UCLA is very nice, but expensive if you’re not a California resident.

The worst major for someone who is going to law school is pre-law. Math or science is a better pre-law school major than pre-law. Pre-med would not be bad, but anything but pre-law or poli-sci.
