Just how much hard work are degrees?

How often do you study (outside of college/uni)? Is it like 2 hours a day or something?

It really depends on the degree. I spent many hours (about 6-8) per day after class in my undergrad degree writing programs and doing research. I know others that didn’t study at all (but they had majors like Art, History, etc.) that was more of an interest/hobby (not that it’s a bad thing, but if you already know a lot about something, you don’t need to study that much).

For every hour in class, you can count on at least 1-2 hours outside of class. thus, if you take 18 college hours, expect to spend about 40+ hours a week on course work.

If you aren’t willing to put in that kind of work, you don’t deserve the degree.

College classes are supposed to be about 2 hours of work outside class for every hour spent in class. Whether they actually meet this standard depends a lot on which college you’re talking about and which subject.

Even if all you want is an ‘associate degree’ (two years at a community college) you MUST study … generally you need to ‘study’ outside of class for as many ‘hours’ as there are ‘credits’ for that class … it’s DIFFICULT but if you want a degree so you can have ‘the career you dream of’ it is WORTH THE EFFORT.

I heard once that u r supposed to study 8 hours a day. I used to do any homework or project, and read any class material every day. Resume chapters and have important notes for the next day will help also for the upcoming test.

Sometimes it was three hours, sometimes one hour, and sometimes I just listened in class. It really depends on how many classes you are carrying. It also depends on your major. I found that it was just too noisy in my dorm so I always went to the library to study. And now, I still like libraries!!

If you found high school easy and got good marks with the amount of time you took to do your home work then you should not have any trouble in college.

It all depends on how many hours you are taking. What degree you are getting? How many years you want to take to get it? ect.
