Is it possible to go to Med School, and also get another degree? (more details inside)?

I’m currently an Undergrad student with a double major in Mathematics and Biology, and also doing Pre-Med. I do want to go to Med School, but I also really enjoy math and want to definitely continue math in grad school.

The thing is, I don’t want to be limited to just one of the two – is it possible to do both simultaneously? Maybe there’s a med school that also offers a dual degree in Math with a grad school or something along those lines?

(I can’t tell you how much I appreciate any help or advice on this, so thanks ahead of time.)

Lots of people get a Masters or PhD along with a medical degree. It usually involves another couple years of study.

Most people do a second degree in a related field (though I know of MDs who got JDs or MBAs along with their MD).

Math would be a pretty unusual combination.

I’m in a class with the med students this year, and I have to say, they keep them awfully busy and they have to memorize a lot. The course load is more than full time. If I were you and wanted to get a math degree and do med. school, I would be inclined to do one and then the other, not try to do both at once.

West Ridge may want to determine whether they are in the right league or conference if all their competition is doing this to them. By the same token, if Christian Heritage is blowing everyone out, maybe they need to be in a tougher league. You sometimes see this in early season college games, when Kansas will play the New England Tractor Trailer School (joke) or some other mismatch.

It is certainly possible to pursue dual degrees. It’s called a combined degree program. I suspect you’ll have to change schools to do it, but this link will take you to a list of schools that offer combined degree programs. As you will see, you can search by a couple of different parameters:

So, you’re asking us to make a life-effecting decision for you. Well, speaking from experience, and I’m not going to say how old I am, I wish I had stayed in college and gotten just one degree. You can have as many degrees in as many different fields as you like as long as you apply yourself and live long enough.
