I remember reading a term in an FBI book that desribes new recruits just graduating from the academy. They were called “blue flamers” (obviously a different meaning back then), and it basically meant that each graduate no doubt has a blue flame coming out of their butt (like an fighter jet) as they’re eager to soar to new heights in terms of accomplishments. But the term was further illustrated that the new graduate can either control that flame and soar higher and higher, or have a flame so huge from overeagerness that they end up burning out and crashing. So basically in the FBI it encourages their graduates to not be overly ambitious in their career for fear of crashing and burning. I tend to agree with that mindset. Hope this helps.

Yes it is bad sometimes. If you are too ambitious it just turns into stupidity. If you’re very ambitious and your friend told you to jump off the cliff and land on the matress, would you do it? Only very ambitious people would do it.

If you try to hold yourself up to impossible standards, you may end up feeling like you can’t achieve them and get upset/depressed or have low self esteem when really you are probably doing quite well overall.

Also if you try to do too many things you might get burned out.

If your ambition interferes with your personal health and wellbeing, it might not be good for you.
