It is a universal profession, meaning, you can get a job in a country other than the U.S. if you have that degree. You can work for the UN, you can work for a religious organization, you can even represent military officials in tribunals…

Is it hard? Well, for starters, generally the tuition fee is about $145,000. You will, of course, get all of that back after a year in practice (or less), but start saving!

BTW, there are thousands of pages of law, and lawyers charge so much per hour because they actually thumb through the endless volumes of laws written, looking for holes in a case they might be part of, unless they are experienced and can tell just from looking at the case. They also sift through thousands of pages of documents in wharehouses to find spending records, so they can see who a person knows.

Getting into law school is hard; you have to have great grades and a high LSAT score (a very tough exam.) Getting through law school is hard: you’re going to read more in the first semester than you probably did in 4 years of college. 4-6 hours of reading each day, at minimum. The material is very challenging, and if you’re not used to being surrounded by people smarter than you, you’ll be in for a very rude awakening. People will work harder than you think possible, and it will make you look bad. Passing the bar is a summer-full of studying. Getting a job as a lawyer, right now, is almost impossible. As a young lawyer, my advice to you is to do something else; you don’t want to come out of school $100,000 in debt with no job.

The easy answer is yes, but it all depends on how much work you put into it. First, you’ll have to go to a 4-yr college as an undergrad, and then law school…well you’ll probably do a pre law program while an undergrad. As for grades, a B average is probably the minumum, but to get into a good law school you’ll need to be above that. Good luck! We need some more good lawyers in our society. And keep working on those grades!

Yes

Law is all reading and writing

It’s lot of research. Lots of reading the rules.

There are small law schools that will take you even if your college grades are only average (3.4).

hard for some is not hard for others. you need 4 years college…and then 3 years law school, and then must pass Bar exam.

Sometimes things are hard because they are worth it. If you go to a competative school, you will have to work quite hard. Passing th BAR shouldn’t be too hard, but you will have to work at it.
