Is a high school *** GPA of 1.750 bad?

*** GPA

1.750

Is this bad for an 11th grader that has learning disabilities, I have known plenty of other kids that do not do there work unlike me and are alot more screwed up and alot of them manage their way into college. Do I have a good chance of persuing my dreams of going into psychology still, or should I pump th elead out and get my *** working because I need more gpa?

It’ll get you into a state school or a community college. I admire your drive- work your tush off this year and next, and it’ll all pay off in the end. Good luck, although just try your hardest and maybe try to get your gpa to like a 2.0 or 2.25, and you won’t even need luck.

A 1.750 won’t get you into many Major Colleges (assuming you use a normal 4 point scale), however as long as you graduate you can attend community college and get a fresh start. If you go their for a year or two after high school, when you apply to a major university or college, most at that point will only look at your college level GPA. So don’t fret too much; just try and do your best the rest of the way, and then bring up your grades at a community college or smaller college.

Also, do not underestimate the vaule of your school counselor(s). Their sole purpose for doing what they do (its by no means the money) is to help you do well. Go talk to them. This may be out of your comfort zone, however it is something worth doing and really will not affect you in any negative way.

Good Luck

LD students have rights in college just like in high school,…ask your high school counselor or even talk with a college counselor to find out specifics.

The americans with disabilities act is fairly broad in its coverage of your rights.

As a teacher I know that gpa and test scores are not definitive methods of estimating learning ability.

Yeah, your going to need to bring that GPA up for sure. That is a D average and colleges do not like those too much. And always pursue your dreams, it just might be a little harder for you with your grades being so low.

Its not good. 2.0 is concidered average. 4.0 is the top. I did crapy in highschool 2 but I was never planning on being a doctor or anything.

If you have a learning disability I guess you have an excuse. But frankly, it’s not good. 2.0 is average.
