Is a college degree in journalism as good as GED diploma?
All my friends now who graduated from journalism, philosophy, communications, theatre, or art years ago, have a job you could’ve easily gotten with just a highschool degree.
What the point? Why do some people study those careers?
Favorite Answer
Almost everyone I know who got a degree in Journalism, Philosophy or Literature has been very successful. Some went on to graduate programs or professional schools — while others found jobs in industry. I even know lots of journalism majors who work as journalists.
In fact, I studied philosophy and am now a Finance Professor at a highly ranked Business School.
Don’t blame the lack of success of your friends on their fields of study — blame it on their lack of ambition.
