if someone scored a 2200?
does that sound like someone colleges would really want at their school?
how much does it take to get colleges to offer full boat scholarships?
Favorite Answer
it really depends on the year.
also your class rank is more important than they say.
I had a 2250, and was offered at least half scholarships most everywhere. If scholarships are important to you stay away from the top tier schools (Ivies, etc., since they do not give academic scholarships) and look at medium level schools like BU, NYU, American, etc. or smaller schools. Also, with a high SAT score you can get a free ride at most state schools, check your state requirements.
That is close to the average GPA and SAT for schools like Harvard, Princeton, Stanford and Duke. What you have to realize is that being qualified to go to one of these schools doesn’t mean tha tyou will get in. While nearly everyone they accept has qualifications like these — they still turn down lots of qualified students. That means that you need to do something to stand apart . In particular, you need a killer entrance essay.
As for Aid — each school determines that. Contact the Financial Aid offices for schools that interest you.
You are more likely to get a full ride at a lesser school. But the best schools will provide lots of Aid. Money should not keep you from going to the best school that you can get into.
