The amount of college you will need depends on the state where you live and the type of psychologist you would like to be. For example, school psychologist can most likely get a decent job with a Masters Degree (6 years of college). However, clinical psychologists generally have to obtain a PhD (9-12 years of college). Then again this also depends on the University and program. Some Universities have programs where you can complete a dual Bachelors (4 year degree) and Masters (2 year degree) in 3-5 years. If you want to see if you really are as interested as you think take a college level Intro to Psychology class in your junior or senior year of high school. The bonus of that is that it will count towards college credit!! Good Luck!
