If I move to another country from the US, will my degree transfer? Has anyone done it?
I have met immigrants to the USA that have transfered their degrees and were able to remain doctors or whatever they were in their former countries. But I have met some people that were not allowed because their degrees didn’t transfer.

American degrees will be respected almost everywhere in the world. Other professional certifications probably will not (e.g. medical licenses, law licenses, professional engineer designation), but there will probably be short cuts to those licenses that don’t require as much as it would to do it all over. There is a catch, though, that degrees from an less-known American school might not be respected as much overseas as in America. This will be especially true for the top liberal arts colleges, which are unknown abroad, but highly respected in America.

depends on what field, what degree and it has to meet certain requirements. a math degree is not the same as a nursing degree, right?
