If a person gets like let’s say a 1 on an AP exam will that hurt their chances of getting into..?

I don;t think so. I have friends who got 1s and still got into great schools like UCLA and Berkeley. They will look at the overall picture, rather than 1 subjective exam.

The above answerer is proper, however deficient AP ratings might flip special schools off. Say, for instance, you are making use of to MIT and Caltech with a two at the AP Calculus AB examination… I are not able to see them liking that.
