Iam in a cal state university and a want to get out of it so that I could start working. How do I get out?

I thought an Educational Leave was my best choice but then I found out that if you are not in good academic standing you can’t get an educational leave. Iam on probation, so I thought I should just drop out but I don’t know how.

You can just not pay your tuition next semester, or you could send them a note saying that you won’t be back in Fall. You do need to consider, though, that dropping out while on academic probation can be a problem. If you ever decide you want to go back to college, you may have trouble getting in. I’m a little confused that they won’t give you a leave while you are on probation, since often the best thing to do for someone is to give them a little time to resolve their problems and try again later. My school actually encourages that. I’m wondering if “educational leave” may not be the wrong term, and they will actually let you take time off if you explain it in a way they will understand. Talk to either your advisor or the Dean’s office before doing something rash like dropping out altogether.
