i want to start a business club at my college, cool idea but what would we do?

My college currently has no club dealing with the subject of business. I would like to start one but have no idea what a business club would be like. Do we get together and dicuss business…cause that wouldn’t work, most of the people joining would most likely not be very experienced in business. Or do we start a project, but what kind of project?

Have any of you been in a business club? What was you experience like?

I am a program director at a large Community College. My club started with a call to the campus student life office. (you should have something like this maybe by another name). The director of the office will direct you in the proper application process, assist you with your constitution and bylaws and give you general information as well as any budget information.

Once the club is authorized you will most likely have to elect officers and establish your constitution/ bylaws from the information you get from the person/ people mentioned above.

The club can do many things. Start a project or volunteer for community service. Take field trips, host campus activities to further the business program, have fun and be creative. My club meets once a month to watch movies and simply to have time together outside of class. This offers them an opportunity to get to know one another in a setting other than academic.

The first step may be to read your student handbook concerning the creation of clubs. Usually there is going to be information on this subject included.

Good luck and have fun.
