I want to be a vet. I live in Cleveland. What college is better, Texas A&M or Ohio State University?
NOTE: I am not squeamish in any way and love to help animals, and it wouldn’t bother me if I have to put an animal down, so veterinary work is perfect. Don’t go ranting on about having to put animals to sleep, having thick skin, ect.

Ohio state academic year tuition: $8,667 (in state resident)
Texas A&M non-resident tuition 1 year: $15,675
So, if the schools are both pretty much the top vet schools, consider the one in your state first…you are obviously saving quite a bit of cash…and trust me….I’m paying back student loans now and that 9,000 difference MATTERS.
Then check the course catalogs for both schools and pick the one that you think offers the best curriculum for what you want to do.
If you change your mind about your specialty, you can always transfer to the other school or a different one altogether.
I’m not sure exactly how it works these days, but if you live in Ohio and you decide to go to Texas A&M (home of the origins of Wonder Warthog!), you may have to establish residency to avoid paying out-of-state tuition (mucho higher). Of course, if you get scholarships that probably won’t matter.
Good luck and don’t quit!
