By ‘beauty surgeon’ I guess you mean plastic surgeon. You have to go pre-med. You will need many math and science requirements. At your school you should have a guidance counselor (or whatever they call it nowadays) who can guide you. Go online or call local colleges for their course catalogs. Your admission applications should go in as soon as possible. If you are able to, sign up to volunteer at a hospital or other medical facility where you can talk to doctor’s and nurses as well as see firsthand what medicine is all about. You may get community service credit in HS as well as gain some experience.

Make sure you attend college open houses and college fairs in your area. Even if you can’t get into the college of your dreams, start at a good local or state college, get your requirements in and then transfer your credits. There are many, many options.

Next time you go to the doctor’s office, ask them too.

Good luck,

While most medical schools are becoming more accepting of those students that “don’t fit the mold”, most future-doctors are pre-med or biology majors in college. To get into medical school you have to take classes such as anatomy and physiology, organic chemistry, microbiology, and psychology in college. You will also need good grades (a high G.P.A.) and good MCAT scores.

Pre-Med, and you will probably have the opportunity to specialize once you are a resident.
