I truly dislike college?
I am going to college for respiratory therapy right now. I am going for that field because there is a 100% placement rate, and the pay is good. I hate school. No matter how much I study, I can never remember enough. I just do not care enough about it I think. Everyone says you should pick a carrer that interests you, something you are good at. I do not have any hobbies or skills though. The only thing I like to do is read, I could be, and am, happy reading all day. But, I do not like to write so that field is out. What would be an ideal field for me?

I strongly suggest you make an appointment to meet with a career counselor at your college. They have many resources available that will help you select a career you will enjoy, based upon psychometric testing, your interests and abilities. College is much more enjoyable when you are taking courses you are interested in. I found graduate school more in-depth and interesting than undergraduate courses.
Some careers that come to my mind based on your love of reading include: librarian, editor, researcher, and book reviewer.
Best wishes.

How about librarian, or book critic or editor….I could keep going. Pick something that you will want to do almost everyday of your life. You will be happier and more successful a your job. Follow your passion. Don’t waste time and money getting a degree in something you do not like, I went to grad school with several people who had been to school and gotten degrees in other fields and hated their jobs so they were back in school at 30 and 40 changing careers.

It is not uncommon of people to change careers, even when they have a particular college education.
I am a pretty clueless person myself. I am working on my masters in nuclear engineering. I still do not know what to do. I say that is a little common though. My problems is a lot different things interest me and I can’t make up my mind. So, I expect things for me to change.
Ever notice even successful people, got degrees or starts in areas that are different than one they got their success in.
Find something you know you might like and take a stab at it.
