I need opinions on choice of school?

I will like to direct this question to someone who knows Canada and its educational system (University Level) very well. I want to apply to a computer systems engineering program in a university in Ottawa (Carleton University). I really like this school; it has an awesome engineering program. But, at the same time, I want to keep my options open. Right now, I’m considering another university in the province Alberta (University of Alberta). It has also has a great engineering program. So, my questions are,

1. In terms of getting opportunities in High Tech/IT companies after graduation , where would you prefer: Ottawa or Alberta? Why?

2. I understand that both provinces are home to tons of High Tech/IT companies. In both provinces, what percentage of these companies work for the government, what percentage work for businesses, and what percentage work for both?

3. Which High Tech/IT company in canada would you like to work in? Why?
