Americans go to college in Canada all the time. I’m sure you can go to school in the U.S. easily. Each university in the U.S. has its own requirements and expenses. You should go online and get the list of colleges you are interested in (pick 6) and then write to each school and ask the requirements for admission and the current costs of attending those schools. Be aware that you can get some financial aid, too, if you sign up. Many universities give scholarships, too, if you are very smart or very athletic. Good luck! I commend you for planning ahead!

I think you should ask someone of authority in your school, but it’s probably the exact same as an American going to an American university, with the addition of maybe 1 other paper. I don’t think you even need a student visa coming from Canada, though I could be wrong. I remember going to Canada earlier and coming back without any identification at all, wasn’t a problem.

You need to take the SAT’s. You also will need to get a student visa, since Canadian’s are considered “International Students.” Also, you will need to have a lot of money because university, in general, is more expensive than Canadian universities, AND, if you will be attending a public university, you will be considered a “non-resident” which will cost a lot more.

Good luck.

There should be no special tests because of your national origin. Some universities, especially those that are run by a state, may have quotas limiting the number of non-US admissions. They may also have some additional fee for admission that applies to non-residents of that state.

I don’t think there are government limitations on student admissions to the country for purposes of study. Make an inquiry about that to a US consulate, embassy, or write to the US Department of State, which, I think, administers visas. I think it will be as simple as proving you’ve been accepted to get the student visa. You may have to prove your country of birth, as well.

I hope my advice is not too out of date because of the new Department of Homeland Security, which has instituted some new paranoid procedures. If there are such that affect you, that may be the department that you deal with.

Good luck.

yeah, but unless you’re wanting to go to an ivy league school or something, you’re probably better off staying in Canada. Students without residency get raped in tuition.

there aren’t tests you have to take! just pick school s in the US like you would pick them in Canada–visit the campuses, have an interview, etc. There’s not really a difference–just a border–the schools work the same way.
